Everyone has more than one thing they love in life… right?
I love to read and get lost in another world, especially when real life can be a real downer sometimes. Reading can take you away from the ups and downs of that roller coaster ride called real life. I enjoy it, but I also like to write and create that other world and bring my characters to life and make them real. But when I’m not reading or writing, there are a couple of other things that I absolutely love…(other than my family) and that’s riding the trails with my family on our RZR’s. (Polaris all the way) It is another way that I can leave all the stress of… well… anything behind. It is one of my most favorite things to do. Our last adventure, before Covid was our trip with friends to WindRock ATV Park in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. I think other than the windmills there, the most beautiful site were the waterfalls. This place was breathtaking. (The pic posted below is one of the waterfalls)
It is also home to the (haunted) Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary last named Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex (also called Brushy) was a large maximum-security prison in the town of Petros in Morgan County, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. It was established in 1896 and operated until 2009. Brushy Mountain was the last place you wanted to find yourself – right in the middle of Tennessee’s first maximum-security prison holding the state’s most violent murderers, robbers and rapists for over a century. With some sentences of 200 years or more, most of the men who walked through its gates would never be walking out, which included James Earl Ray. We got to go inside, however, my daughter and I did try to do an EVP session but with no success.
My other love and passion are fast Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Luxury Sports Cars such as Carroll Shelby ’s Ford GT40 team and Enzo Ferrari ’s Scuderia Ferrari for dominance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans car race in 1966 to the exotic Audi R8 or the BMW M8 Competition Coupe. Yes… I love cars and I like to go fast. My husband used to drag race and we love going to the car shows. I guess that’s also why my characters in my book have sweet rides: Kira drives a Ford Shelby GT Mustang, Blake dives a Dodge HellCat Challenger, Larz drives the sleek Audi R8, so you get the idea… it’s about the cars…. cars…fast and sexy cars.
